We're In The Home Stretch

It's been awhile since our last update as we've just been getting through the illustration phase. But now we are in the exciting part of book design. We are working with the wonderful Tobi Carter to assemble the book, finalize image placement, pick out fonts, and get everything formatted for the printers. There's a lot involved with formatting. Specific designs layouts for the printers and different than those for on-demand printing (if we every chose to do a softcover) and different from e-book, so we need multiple versions of the book prepared for every eventuality. Illustration Update!

Well we are continuing to work very hard on The Doggy Doctor. New illustrations are flowing in every week. Not quite...I spent a lot of time reading through publishing blogs, facebook groups and other online resources, and if there's one thing they agree on, it's get an editor. And they're right. I read it a million times and there...

A Story Starts At The Beginning...

I'm sure this website is premature, and probably very few people other than me will be looking at it for some time. I mean, come on, it's a website for a book that doesn't exist yet. I tend to get a little hyperfocused when I get excited about something - so the unfinished book already has an imprint with its own logo, a website, a Facebook page and an Instagram account. So, how did this all come about. Well, I'm a veterinarian. I have a house full of animals. I also have two little girls, 2 and 3 1/2 years old,...
